Adobe Standard 11 will not combine multi-sheet Excel files as easily as Standard 10 did. In the office, we've got 10 Excel files that we use to make a monthly pdf report. These files are complex and contain many worksheets (sometimes 20 or higher), but we only desire to include a few of those worksheets inside the monthly pdf report.
In Standard 10, it turned out easy & you could select worksheets you desired with your pdf report one or two various ways - you can click filename from set of files & use Choose Sheets/Pages button at bottom of screen to choose worksheets to feature or you'll double-click page range & a Preview and judge Sheets box would show up with a listing of worksheets & a preview of file with worksheet tabs at bottom - you could choose worksheets you would like from list or click the tabs from preview to pick worksheets to feature. All simple enough though, you're selecting worksheets you desire included from a summary of some kind.
In Standard 11, lists seem gone. They've been substituted with unlabeled thumbnails you have to hover over to determine which worksheet is which, and you also must then select worksheets you need to exclude, instead of ones you wish to include. So, for those who have a 20-worksheet file and would like to include two worksheets, you have to hover over everyone of 20 thumbnails for worksheet name to show up then pick the 18 worksheets you don't wish, instead of two worksheets you are doing want. Plus, it takes a while for thumbnails of such worksheets to load from network to be open to select and delete.
Also, when combining Excel files, it defaults to selecting All Pages, regardless if "Convert Entire Excel Workbook" preference box not checked.
adobe tech support did do their best to actually assist me. they actually verified it's indeed the manner the software is now and never one thing i'm missing or doing wrong. they actually aforesaid they actually would write it up and file a case, and that i submitted an internet feature request kind, hoping which it might be included within the update due out in jan or feb.
however, as of now, for what i utilize it for, they actually made it more durable to actually use rather than easier, therefore adobe commonplace 11 gets solely one star from me.
